ARe Sweat Pea flowers--do they grow on a vine?
yes, they are a flower producing vine that needs a trellis or something to grow on. they do produce an abundance of flowers and come in all colors. they do better in milder climates, i hear they don't like it too hot. i live in southern louisiana and i can't grow them here. good luck with the. hope this was helpful.
Reply:yes they are a vine and they flower very nicely. I think they would look splendid on a fence or a trellis. have and enjoy the look and fragrance they produce.
Reply:Yes, they would grow nicely on a fence as long as they have something to cling to. If well watered and in not too hot a climate, they will flower nicely and oooooh, the fragrance! One suggestion, soak the seeds over night before planting and they will germinate much quicker. Love 'em!
Reply:Sweet Peas are a flowering vine that like to climb. They would grow well along a fence, I would add a transparent trellis netting along the fence line to give them a bit more to grab onto. You can attach it to the fence with zipties or staples. This is the product I bought for my sweat peas:
