Our wedding colors are chocolate brown and blue please help with ideas for decor....?

WHAT FLOWERS WILL WORK? WHICH COLOUR WORKS FOR BRIDESMAIDS DRESSES? LOOKING FOR CHEAP PLACE FOR THESE DRESSES ALSO? I WANT TO TRY TO COORDINATE BUT NOT OVER DO THE DAY... WE HAVE A VERY BASIC VENUE AND WANT SOME WOW FOR LOW COST AND WANT GUESTS TO BE HAPPY AND OF COURSE WE WANT TO ENJOY THE DAY...

WHAT WORKS WHAT DOESN'T...THE WEDDING IS IN AUGUST. WE THINK THAT CERTAIN PINK FLOWERS MAY SUIT THE COLOURS SCHEME... I DON'T LIKE DYED BLUE FLOWERS OR BLUE FLOWERS IN GENERAL...

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN ADVANCE.

Our wedding colors are chocolate brown and blue please help with ideas for decor....?
Hmm...well, for starters great color choices! I wanted chocolate and pink but my hubby was against the pink. :)

If it were my wedding I would put the guys in chocolate tuxes with blue vests (or cumberbunds)and ties. The girls would be in blue dresses with coordinating flowers. I'm assuming your blue is icy? Then I would do pink roses or an arrangement of light colored flowers, focusing on pink.

For table decor, use blue for things like napkins, plates, table runners, votive holders, personalized favors (ribbon on bubbles, letters on mint packages, m%26amp;ms ect) and use the brown for table cloths, seat cushions/back covers.

Back to flowers: if you do an assorted bouquet pick your favorite flower in the bunch to use for the boutineers(sp?). I would consider that same flower for table centerpieces (single flower in a clear/blue vase) and use assorted arrangements for bigger things like the guest book/gift table, cake table, ect.

Also, for my own wedding I had a vase full of water for each bridesmaid at the head table, in front of her place setting. It was a convenient spot for her to drop her flowers and instantly decorated out table for us! My vases were clear (each one was different) with a ribbon on the neck.

Hope this helps!

Congratulations on your engagement!
Reply:Just white I guess, as your color choices are odd together. Could you please stop YELLING - it's irritating to read your info.
Reply:irst you need tochange your colors. that does not sound good at all.
Reply:Well if your wedding colors are blue and chocolate brown then your bridesmaids dresses should be chocolate brown. Since you don't like blue flowers than you should have brown, creme and white lillies or carnations for your centerpieces. To incorporate the blue you should have blue napkins, place settings and party favors so that the blue can stand out. Davids Bridal is a great bargain store and you should also research small businesses in your area that sell bridesmaid dresses because they are affordable.
Reply:Chocolate and light blue or chocolate and light pink are very popular wedding colors these days.

I am not much good at decorating ideas, but have you seen the chocolate colored ring pillow, basket, garter, and guest book set at customweddingsolutions.com? Its really nice.
Reply:How about white flowers? Have your bridesmaids carry white flowers, daisies specifically are super cheap. And then you can carry white flowers with blue embelishments. Have them put some kind of pokes in the boquet and blue ribbon. Tableclothes can be white...use a wide blue ribbon down the middle of the table to decorate, and you can just have small votive candles in brown on the table. Simple and elegant.
Reply:I agree. Ivory would look a lot better. Brown is a hard color to match up with. Think about it. If you were wearing brown pants, what color top would you put on? Probably not blue.

Hope you are not offended, but it's just my opinion.
Reply:i would suggest changing one of your colors. that is a horrible color combination. chocolate with ivory or pink would work great. that you way your options are pretty much countless when it comes to decoration.

if you really need blue in the wedding, add a blue flower to your bouquet of white. and that way you will also cover the something blue. if you want it done inexpensive, it will look inexpensive.
Reply:I think that blue dresses would work for the bridesmaids. You might want to think about getting white flowers or red roses, they are a rich color like brown. Pink might fit. I don't know. Pink seems to go with brown better than blue though. Oh, congratulations on the big day! Good luck!
Reply:I think your colour choice is great and is very modern. You could do a pink colour flower or white. For table centerpieces the ostrich feathers and surround with different color votives.

PS Above people who noted that the color choice is not a good one need to update themselves
Reply:It depends what kind of blue you are using but fuschia pink and powder pink both look great with brown for flowers. Or white calla lilys would be really pretty. Jessica McClintock has nice dresses that could be used for bridesmaids that aren't too expensive. Good luck!
Reply:peach colored roses for the flowers and peach dresses with brown trim would be nice
Reply:calla lilies ...my fave and they come in a wide assortment of colors to chose form. they can be kind of expensive but that is the case for most flowers right! I am also having a fall wedding! good luck!
Reply:If you're talking light or ice blue with chocolate brown,I think this is a pretty combination. A darker shade of blue with a deep color like brown won't complement each other very well. Chocolate brown dresses for your 'maids with blue sashes or visa virsa. Flowers- what about cream or ivory colored hydrangeas and roses with chocolate brown ribbon and blue jewel embellishments in the arrangements. If you're renting linens for the reception, go for alternating brown and blue table clothes, with the same flower scheme. Or, do blue table clothes and use a large dish of chocolate candies for a centerpiece. These could be your favors for the guests. Also, you could use draped fabric in your colors to dress up the walls. Check your local fabric stores in the bargain and sale bins. If you have trouble finding supplies in your blue color, considering tying in another color to help, or switching the blue. Light pink and green (sage?) also go well with chocolate brown. I have seen all three used together. Just keep your eyes and your mind open. I think you can make the blue work. Just make sure you and your groom are happy with the choices and you don't blow the budget (too much).
