I have a question about matting and framing.?

I have two 16X20 pictures of my kids when they were 15 mos. old (They are now 13 and 15) that I would like to reframe and hang in my living room. My living room is decorated in muted reds and golds. The picture of my daughter is a light blue background and she is wearing a white romper with baby pink and blue flowers. My son's picture is also a light blue background. He is wearing a white sweater with primary red and blue shapes on it. How can I mat these pictures in such a way that they would fit into my living room. I am very proud of these pictures and NOT hanging them in my living room is not an option. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a question about matting and framing.?
Use a light beige matting, be sure the frames you choose do not clash with existing pictures frames on your walls or your livingrooms woodworking.
Reply:Using the gold for matting will make the pictures stand out as something of great value in your life. If you double mat them you can use both colors, the red and gold.
Reply:Take a pic of the area you wish to hang the pics, bring pic and pics to a framing shop, and go over your options..do it right, or you'll be sad!
Reply:Hi - If you are going to be doing the framing yourself...then take the photos to a Home Depot or Lowes....use the paint samples to see which look best with colors. You can take the paint samples to a framer also, if you are having the photos framed professionally.
Reply:Take a couple of pictures of your living room with your cellphone camera. Then when you go to the frame shop, show the framer your pictures. S/he can then help you pick out a matt and frame that would match.
