What flowers should i plant at my house , my house is white with dark blue shutters.?

I'm going to echo what the others said about light and soil conditions. Depending on that, I think I'd go either with bright colors like reds and yellows to provide contrast, or a white, lavender/purple and blue palette if you want a more peaceful look.

What flowers should i plant at my house , my house is white with dark blue shutters.?
Spend a hour at the plant nursery, they are usually pretty smart. Remembering the soil and sun and etc. do you want the flowers or shrubs year round or what?
Reply:if you have a window that gives you bright indirect lighting go for the ficus tree. what a difference a plant can do to a room.
Reply:Agreed with The Muse. Your colors are pretty much neutral, so you can use just about anything with that. It's just a matter of what will grow.
Reply:I agree with the 1st answer because your house's colors would look good with almost everything.
Reply:Depends more on what you like, your sun exposure, moisture and soil rather than the colours of your house.

Does anyone know how to get black, blue and violet flowers in animal crossing wild world?

This is June. Is there a plant with blue flowers year round that I can plant now?

I mean, for my flowers beds, outside my front window. Not trees.

This is June. Is there a plant with blue flowers year round that I can plant now?
It depends on where you live, if you are in a mild climate there are several flowers that are beautifully-blue. One of my favorite is flax (linum) It is a perennial and flowers profusely. It has flowers that are periwinkle-blue and also make good cut flowers. Being a perennial it will flower all year with the exception of its -rest period in which all flowers have.Flax will live in almost all climates but its life is shortened by harsh weather.

Other blue flower perennials:

bachelor buttons (centaurea)(anoth favorite)

delphinium

larkspur(more of a purple-blue)

blue morning glories

blue petunias

monkshood (aconite)

muscari (grape hyacinth) blue-purple

Hope this is helpful

Reply:There is a variety of hydrangea called endless summer. It blooms pink naturally, but if you plant them in acidic soil (treat with something like Muracid), they bloom a beautiful romantic blue color. Just search "endless summer hydrangea" online to see a photo. I love them.
Reply:I just planted a blue columbine with a mounding habit, but I live in zone 9 where most annuals behave like perennials and bloom year round. It is a perennial plant, however, and depending on your zone it will continue blooming long after the hang tag says it does.
Reply:yes
Reply:In a warmer climate you could plant plumeria. It is a shrub that gets a blue bloom all year. It is low maintenance and good in dry weather.

What type of flowers are good for Wedding Favors?

We are having a Garden wedding. and for our favors we are going to by small pots and have our names/date calligraphed on them. We want to plant seeds in them and let it be a surprise as to what flowers will bloom. But we can't even figure out what flower to put inthem!?!

Any ideas on A small (and will stay small) purple or blue flower that is low maintanance that we could plant in the pots?

What type of flowers are good for Wedding Favors?
Forget-me-nots. However, I think it may be a better idea to just have the decorated pots, fill with excelsior or spanish moss, and just include seed packets - then it won't be messy with the soil for the guests.
Reply:Don't. Those of us that live in apartments or don't garden thank-you.

Are blue Iris the same as blue orchids?

I wanna send flowers to my fiancee at work and she loves blue orchids...but i found some nice blue iris flowers that were nice. I was wondering if they were the same. THANKS!

Are blue Iris the same as blue orchids?
Nope. Orchids are much different than the iris plant.

BUT, it's the thought that counts! I bet she'd love the Iris bouquet.

Reply:They're two very distinct and very DIFFERENT flowers. They're both very pretty, though. I suspect whatever you send, she'll be pleased to get them :-)

There are hundreds of different colors such as chrimson, white and blue. Also they originate from the Hemalayn mountains. I do know that the first six letters ar Mecano.

Utpala? But that is more a blue lotus.

It could also be the Tibetan Blue Poppy (Meconopsis grandis)
Reply:It is called Mecanopsis Grandis. It is the national flower of Bhutan

Reply:Hyacinth?

Origin: It was brought to Western Europe in the 16th century and was first cultivated in Austria in the 1500's. During the 17th and 18th centuries, like the tulip, it was to be found only in the collections of very rich flower collectors. Because of the hyacinth's pervasive perfume, the bulbs were exorbitantly expensive. The bulbs are now grown in Holland and Great Britain.

Colour: Usually white, pink, peach and blue. More unusual colours to look for include dark wine purples , rosy reds, navy, egg-yolk yellows and soft oranges.

Family: Hyacinthus orientalis belongs to the Liliaceae family and so grows from a bulb.

Varieties: Varieties come in all colours including pure white "Carnegie", salmon "Anna Marie", delicate pink " Splendid Cornelia" and baby blue "Delft Blue

Trivia:

Facts: Nowadays the cut flowers are sold with roots intact at the bottom to make the flowers last longer. Don't cut these off, but just give the stems a good rinse.

Hey I'm looking for wedding flowers that are blue?

Can you help me by giving me a list of blue type of flowers!

Thanks

Hey I'm looking for wedding flowers that are blue?
Hydrangeas, delphenium, lisianthus ( I LOVE this flower), iris, statice, and I believe strawflowers.
Reply:There are several, but it depends on where the wedding will be. Different parts of the World, and different parts of the country have different types of flowers. For instance, we often have brides from the New York or Boston area choose flowers for their bouquets from flowers that they are used to seeing locally. Not realizing that here in Hawaii most of those flowers aren't available. We have different types of flowers here because of the differences in temperatures, etc.

Check with a florist where your wedding will take place and they can give you a list of flowers matching the colors you are needing that will be available there.

Also, not all flowers are available year round, some are seasonal flowers. The local florist can let you know if the flowers you are wanting are seasonal or not also.

VERY IMPORTANT!! Make absolutely sure that you do NOT use flowers that have been died blue in your bouquet or they will "bleed" blue dye onto your wedding gown.
Reply:Try belladonna. It's a deep, purplish blue.
Reply:I can think of two, Blue lillies and Blue Hydrangeas.
Reply:Blue Hydrangeas

Blue Delphinium

There is a kind of daisy that is blue I believe.

Anything else probably has to be dyed blue.
Reply:Blue hydrangeas are so beautiful! You could also get irises, perhaps. There are lots of mum-like flowers which can be died or colored blue, but they aren't as pretty as naturally colored flowers. Good luck.

If on a window sill, they don't like direct sun on them. Water sparingly.

My 16 yr old son is going to homecoming his date will wear a navy blue dress. What should he wear and flowers?

Just a regular tuxedo with a navy blue bowtie (if he's wearing one) or a navy blue handkerchief. As for flowers maybe a lily or a white rose?

My 16 yr old son is going to homecoming his date will wear a navy blue dress. What should he wear and flowers?
i'm a freshman and my date is a spohmore- my dress is black, so he's wearing a black suit w/red flowers. your son needs to wear a navy suit and buy white or even pink flowers.
Reply:maybe a nice balsck suit with light blue shirt and tie with blue flowers
Reply:If her dress is formal (long) then he should wear a tux but if her dress is semi-formal (knee length) then a suit would be appropriate.

Colors should compliment her dress.

Most girls like wearing a wrist corsage. He should ask her what her favorite flowers are and then order a corsage made of those. Be sure he tells the florist what color her dress is.
Reply:He should probably wear black, and the flowers that would be nice are white roses.
Reply:navy pants and an ivory/cream coat
Reply:He should wear a suit (w/ dress shoes -- no sneakers). Maybe his tie could be navy blue like her dress. As for flowers: Maybe you should find our what the traditions are at the school in question. Here in Plano, Texas -- the homecoming corsage is a big thing! and I mean BIG! The longer and the more ornate they are, the better they are. Some have ribbons that practically reach the floor. The craft stores in our area have supplies out for these silly things for months in advance, as well as ornament things for all of our three competing high schools. And florist shops charge big bucks to make them for you. The tradition here is that the boy gives the girl this huge corsage, and she gives him a "bicep" corsage.
Reply:Well Being that I am a model, i would suggest maybe renting a base suit, or a manilla colored suit, with some elegant flowers.
Reply:he should wear an all black suit with a blue flower. now thats pimping! lol. white roses always work with the ladies! =0)
Reply:Anything in a similar color to her dress would be great

I'd say a navy blue suit with a gold vest and tie :)

good luck!
Reply:I'd recommend a dark suit or tux (black or charcoal grey) and match the pocket square or tie to her dress. If she wears silver-tone accessories, he can use a crisp white shirt, navy blue accents in the tie and pocket square (most young men don't wear vests or cummerbunds these days?). If she goes with gold-tone accessories, he doesn't have to carry that gold into his shirt or accents, but with accessories it will look more pulled together. I've seen a nice charcoal grey suit with a pale yellow shirt and matching tie and it goes well. As for flowers, white always looks good with navy, such as gardenias, white roses, calla lillies or freesia. Otherwise, red goes nicely as in red roses with greens. He can also go with pale yellow if she accessorizes her dress with gold accessories.
Reply:a regular tux and a navy and white hankerchief in his pocket would look fine..
Reply:He should try to match I love it when I match with my date. and get like a white or cream flower!

Their native land? :)

Where are blue periwinkle flowers found?
Blue periwinkle, Vinca major, Dogbane Family/Apocynaceae is a native from southern Switzerland southward around much of the Mediterranean basin, from Portugal, Spain, southern France to western Balkans, northeastern Turkey, western Caucasus, and across much of north Africa.

Distribution and habitat:

"Widely cultivated and has become a problem in various ecosystems, found primarily in damp and seasonally moist sites in forest, woodlands and heathlands, as well as along waterways and drainage lines (Muyt 2001). Best way to get rid of blue bells in my garden?

I have dug up a large patch of my lawn last year to get rid of them, this year, they have spread to another area of the lawn. I love the different colours of flowers -blue/white/pink but I like my lawn to be grass. I do not use any chemical in my garden. So is digging the only way?

Best way to get rid of blue bells in my garden?
Why would you want to get rid of them.

Herbicides will kill just about everything and leave you with an ugly bare or brown patch of crud.

So you have two choices that are environmentally sound.

Leave 'em be. What's so great about grass anyway? Just a pest. I got rid of all my grass and replaced with creeping sedum and patches of Blue-eyed grass in the Iris family which is a lot prettier than boring old grass and NEVER needs mowing. I know another bright fellow tired of the American lawn stupidity and replaced ALL of his stupid grass with Creeping Myrtle with its purple flowers. A lot saner, and better.

There is a place for grass. In pastures and in football or baseball fields.

Lawns with nothing but grass are for retards that just must enjoy noisy and bothersome perpetual mowing. Maybe it is for a good cause, probably the only exercize these fat couch potatoes will ever get.

4) Animals, and how to get them :

Note : The Status screen in your house is your best friend for all animals.

It will tell you the development and health of every animal you have. Just

hit X facing your Journal, then select "Status".

Chicken - Either buy one (500 g) from Bob at the Brownie Farm or buy a fresh

egg (50 g) from Ronald at the Supermarket and place it in the incubator in

the Hen House.

To care for Chicken -

Sunny Day - Leave it outside all day (at the very least from dawn until dusk).

Pick it up and talk to it with SELECT button to find out how it is doing.

From adult chickens you will get an Egg. From really healthy chickens that

are outside on sunny days there is a chance that you will get a Gold Egg.

Rainy Day - Put it inside the night before it is going to rain. Feed it with

Chicken Feed bought from the Brownie Farm. Make sure you put the food in the

correct box for your chicken. Use the X button to see if the chicken's name

is on the feed box, then using Square fill the food box up. Do this for every

chicken you have. Pick it up and talk to it with SELECT button to find out

how it is doing. From adult chickens you will get an egg.

Cow - Buy it at Brownie Farm (2500 g) or get a baby from Cow Miracle Potion

(2000 g, Brownie Farm).

To care for Cow -

Sunny Day - Leave it outside all day. Talk to it with the X button and brush

it. You can milk adult cows. The size of the milk depends on how well you

care for your cow. If your cow is really happy there is a chance that it will

give either Gold or Large Milk. You can not milk Baby or Pregnant cows.

Rainy Day - Push it inside the night before it is going to rain. Talk to it

with the X button and brush it. Make sure to give Fodder to each cow. Use

the X button to see if the cow's name is on the feed box, and then put the

Fodder in. You get 1 fodder for cutting 3 pieces of grass in the pasture.

You can milk your happy adult cows. The size of the milk depends on how well

you care for your cow. You can not milk Baby or Pregnant cows.

Horse - Get it from Bob at the Brownie Farm. You must work Part-Time Job on

Sunny Days before 3 PM. Make sure to talk to and brush all

Flowers with blue bridesmaid dresses at an outdoor summer country (but not too country) wedding?

We are having an outdoor ceremony at a little country Bed and Breakfast this summer, and I want to find some flowers that are not too formal, but not too country (a.k.a. wildflowers). I love wildflowers, but I want this to be just a notch above being that country and simple. It is my wedding, after all! :)

I love daisies, roses, sweet pea (that's what my mom has always called me), sunflowers, ranunculus, gerbera daisies, and mini calla lilies. I was just going to go with white flowers because the contrast with the blue dresses would be pretty. The color also has to look okay with the red roof on the B%26amp;B (but no red flowers please, just colors that would look okay and not clash with the red roof since we are thinking about having the ceremony leading up the steps of the house.)

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Pictures EVEN BETTER!!! :)

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!

Flowers with blue bridesmaid dresses at an outdoor summer country (but not too country) wedding?
Be careful with sweet peast - they're rather delicate. I insisted on having them in my bouquet because they're sentimental to me, so just be aware that if you do have them, to use them sparingly and keep your bouquet out of the heat as long as possible.

I wouldn't worry too much about the color of the roof of the house. You won't really even notice it.

Pinks and purples would be pretty:

My personal favorite is the all white but instead of the white ribbon use a ribbon in your accent color so it stands out and sets off the blue dresses.

Mens boutineers should simple single flower with a sprig of greenery... while mothers and grand mothers coursages should be simple 3 flower settings sprig of greenery and a bit of ribbon..
Reply:I think your idea of mixed flowers is a very good idea, Blue is such a neutral color, almost any flower would look fine against it. May I suggest one thing? The mini Calla Lillie's might be too formal in the type of bouquet you are suggesting.
Reply:Gerbera daisies strike a very good note between "country" and "formal" and they're absolutely gorgeous. I'd go with a single-color bouquet. Here are some photos of how it would look. I'd do ribbon-wrapped stems.

Wild flowers that are blue, I was told they are chicory, but can't find a pic of them to confirm??

They usually grow wild along the road. At least in Indiana they do. Does anyone know or have a pic of wild chicory or any info?

Plant Profile Chicory (Cichorium intybus):

http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symb...

A native of Europe, it has escaped from cultivation and naturalized throughout North America.http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/wilds...

They're pretty! It roots were ground up %26amp; used as a substitute for coffee. "When World War II disrupted shipping, most U.S. "coffee" was produced from chicory. Caffine-free, it is regaining popularity".*

Hope this helps.
Reply:The plant you are probably looking at is a CornFlower. This flower is one of the first and truest blue flowers found in nature. Very Hardy and not unusual to find in a roadside setting. It is primarily found in the Northern US.

It makes a wonderful flower to plant away from a home garden. The seeds can be ordered. Placed some three foot or so from a Blue Spruce or the dripline of a Red Maple it is a great addition. It has an agressive root system which makes it unacceptable in the beds directly by your house (foundation planting beds).

If you have the space a raised bed of these with some Daisies applicable to your area in the center and some DayLilly on the corners would attract attention. Daisey come in many colors (Rudebeckia). Imagine the Blue center surrounded by say a red or pink Daisey with Yellow at the edges.

I am at gjgjobs@yahoo.com, again, after a months vac.

Flowers to match blue, white and silver?

My wedding colors are blue, white and silver and I don't know what kind of flowers to get that will look good with those colors. Any ideas?

Flowers to match blue, white and silver?
Yellow works, like a butter cream will work.
Reply:What shade of blue? If it's a dark blue, I suggest yellow.

If it's sky blue (which is actually what my colors are: sky blue and silver), may I suggest pink? We are going with dahlias, roses and mini callas all in a medium pink.

But blue is a great color-it can serve almost as a neutral to a wide variety of flowers.
Reply:Light blue hydrangeas and white roses are beautiful together. You could throw in some white stephanotis with silver balls in the center.

How do I go about doing a private auction? I have an antique blue flowered loo and 78s and LP records.?

Have had offers for the loo already. Was thinking of taking the records to an auction room. Do you think it`ll be worth it?

Anyone interested in anything?

How do I go about doing a private auction? I have an antique blue flowered loo and 78s and LP records.?
either an auction room or try ebay
Reply:For selling I would always use eBay for that sort of stuff. You are going to reach a far wider audience and the commission rates are very low.
Reply:If you take it to an auction house or hire an auctioneer, be sure to ask about their rates. They can demand a hefty percent of the take.
Reply:You can do local pickup only on ebay if you feel they are too bulky to mail, but I've bought records on ebay and had no trouble having them mailed. I've also had chairs sent, so I doubt what you have would be bulkier that they were! You can also take them to a local auction house.

What flowers would look good in front of a light blue house and in a well moisten area?

Because light blue is a cool color, you will need flowers with warm colors so they will make nice contrast. Red, yellow, orange, gold are warm colors, just pick what you like best.

I don't know what zone you are in but for my area (zone 7), canna lilies are perfect for well moist soil. Also their flowers are red/ yellow/ orange that's perfect. You need to dig them if you live in zone 6 or colder zones.

What flowers would look good in front of a light blue house and in a well moisten area?
My "front" gardens have California poppy (yellow-orange), agapanthas (a blue-purple color), trailing lantana (lavender color), Spanish Lavender (another purplish), and several ornamental grasses. The house is a light blue, we have sandy soil in Zone 9 (California)
Reply:Anything bright red or yellow would "pop" and show up beautifully. Visit your local nursery and explain the moisture conditions. They will be able to recommend which plants will do well in those conditions.

My bridesmaids are wearing cobalt blue dresses. What colour flowers go with blue?
Well In all honest i think you should go with off white roses or off white flowers of your choice. That is if the dresses are a deep blue. IF they are lighter blue. Then i still stick with white?off white.

CYA :)
Reply:White roses would look beautiful. If you don't care for roses, there are many other beautiful white flowers you could use as well. I would avoid adding another color such as pink or yellow if you already have such a deep bright color as cobalt. If you add other colors besides white, it could very easily end up looking cluttered and busy. White and cobalt go beautifully together and will make for a very classy wedding. Good luck!
Reply:Pink pink pink and more pink!! Pink is a gorgeous color

Who build this moon, sun, flowers, the blue sky? Can these thing be build by more than one God?

i think these were orginited rather than "built". Over period of time, these things have been forming. It all started from a tiny cell that developed into bigger creations. As of now, i believe these things were naturally created and i would leave it up to nature. I think humans should stop trying to play god by trying to "build" a human being. Human Beings should just leave things alone and stop interfering with Nature's ability.

no, only one God...

After all parents let children help with creating things in the kitchen or some projects in the backyard, so if we are children of God, wouldn't God let us help with a few little things here and there? Maybe these are questions that have deeper answers, though.

What flowers would go well with a very formal tiffany blue and chocolate brown July wedding?

Im really looking for something elegant or unique. It is a big hall so I need centerpieces that will fill it out with the high ceilings and what not....your help is most appreciated. PICTURES PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE :-) thank u!

Also, if u have any other ideas to go with this color scheme, PLEASE let me know or leave some pictures. I really like vintage type styles...if that helps.

What flowers would go well with a very formal tiffany blue and chocolate brown July wedding?
I think that Calla Lilies would look beautiful with that color scheme. Like these:

http://www.lineneffects.com/images/sce/A...

http://www.njsdesign.on.ca/images/center...

Hydragea's are also lovely flowers that would look beautiful...

http://www.floralartsbahamas.com/public/...

You could also use some ivory/champagne/white roses. Those always make lovely looking tall centerpieces. Like these:

http://www.expressionsfloraldesign.net/t...

http://www.wedcrafts.com/images/silver_w...

http://weddingjunkie.com/images/blumebox...
Reply:One of the most elegant set of arrangements I have ever seen used, involved long, skinny crystal vases brimming with tall white lilies (featured flower) and willowy greenery spilling over the sides. You could tie the tall vases with thin, gauze ribbons highlighting your color scheme blue/brown.

The crystal vases were 18 to 24 inches high and filled space at eye level when guests are standing. Then when they are seated at the tables, guests can see to talk with each other, and table space is conserved.

You can continue the theme at cake tables or champagne/punch tables, and vary the height even more by stacking blocks of wood (or something stable) under the white tablecloths.

Or, you could use chocolate %26amp;/or blue small tablecloths (napkins) to cover blocks of wood on these tables and set your tall vase flowers at varying heights with birdseed bouquets or guest rememberences.
Reply:I'm going to have to say that the only color of flowers with will match and not look bad are white. I would accent white flowers with some blue ones in the centerpieces (you will probably have to have them dyed to match the tiffany blue). I wanted to use an aqua color in my wedding, but I also wanted pink roses because those were the first flowers my husband bought me when dating. I ended up matching my wedding to my flowers because those were important to me. It's up to you, though. I would say white, or VERY subdued, pale colored flowers.

I'm thinking something larger, but similar to this in the respect that it has the blue accents in it.

Calla Lilies are nice. They have one that is almost brown. That would look nice.

Or a variety of simple while flowers with blue and brown breading or ribbon intertwined with the flowers.....We put beads and crystals in the center of some deep pitted flowers for my wedding. It looked amazing.

What amazingly beautiful colors you've chosen! You should have tons of choices but one thing to keep in mind is to have lots of contrast between the flowers your attendants carry and their dresses, otherwise they won't show well in photos.

Now, there aren't many blue flowers to pick from but there are lots of shades of orange; talk to your florist to find out prices before you get your heart set on something that's out of your price range.

Can anyone recommend a shrub/plant for indoor use that will have a blue flower?

I would like to have something that will bloom in blue to remind me of a close relative who passed away recently. If anyone has any good suggestions as to which plant or small tree they think would be suitable... links to sites where I can see a picture would be very useful also... thanks :o)

Can anyone recommend a shrub/plant for indoor use that will have a blue flower?
My mother has this plant and it is an amazing shade of blue. One of the truest blue flowers I have ever seen.It needs a whole lot of sun to bloom inside though and she does put it outside in the summer. Still, it is a very cool plant and you might want to check into it.

http://www.anniesannuals.com/signs/t%20-...

Apparently some blue hydrangeas can be successfully grown indoors but I have no experience with it and am somehow skeptical.

http://www.whiteflowerfarm.com/83712-pro...

Exacum (persian violet ) can be a lovely blooming houseplant but the blue does tend to fall on the purple end of the spectrum. They are pretty though, so you might want to look at them.

http://www.yoder.com/ASSETS/0F311CCA88BA...

I've never tried to grow ageratum indoors but it might be worth a shot. After all impatiens grows and blooms beautifully inside. Ageratum is one of the bluest flowers that is readily availble.

http://www.hort.wisc.edu/mastergardener/...

If you have room for any outdoor plants in blue I would strongly recommend planting flax (linum perenne). It is amazingly beautiful and SO blue.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linum_peren...

Platycodon (balloonflower) is another but it isn't quite as true blue.

http://www.gorgetopgardens.com/perennial...

Campanula is another pretty one and there are many varieties, some of which might do well inside.

I hope you find what you're looking for. My sympathies on your loss.

Can someone help me with this type of blue flower shown in this Wikipedia article?

Thank you.

Blue Flowers?
Flowers have always been symbols for the unfulfilled desires of Man... In Sumer it was Gilgamesh searching the secret plant of immortality, in 19th cent. Germany the obscure 'blue flower was the ideal of the romantic poets. by Konrad Knauber.

There are about 161 blue flowers, but this one, I am having a hard time locating. I have found one that is an exotic flower, native to Helgoland, located 44 miles off the German coast line. This is all I really could find, sorry...
Reply:I'm not positive, but it looks like either a Morning Glory or Clematis.
Reply:I'm sure it is blue petunia.
Reply:sorry, can't identify them, but here's a list of all the blue flowers

Is blue an unnatural color in nature?

I was told that blue was a mutated color in nature. But there are blue birds, blue jays and blue flowers. And I know that the color blue is a primary color that we need to make some other colors happen. We see the sky as blue because of color our eyes see in that area, so if there is so much blue that we see how is it unnatural in nautre?

Is blue an unnatural color in nature?
It is natural, however, not a basic color. Look at sky and sea: unnatural?

No, all bluebells are not blue. That's the common name for the family of flowers, Campanulaceae. There are other colors, like you mentioned. Also, there are some that change colors as they mature and fade. Note, I'm talking about the originals: wildflowers. I'm sure there are other ones you can purchase with even more variety.

What flowers would look nice with blue hydrangeas at a wedding?

My colors are different shades of blue and white and the ceremony will be outdoors in July.

I would prefer white flowers along with the blue hydrangeas, but other suggestions are appreciated!

:) Thanks!

What flowers would look nice with blue hydrangeas at a wedding?
Blue Hydrangeas %26amp; White Baby Breathe would be Really Gorgeous...
Reply:Here are some great white flowers:

Champaign Roses -- they're creamy, ivory white

White Chrysanthemums

Freesia -- absolutely my favorite white flower

Gardenia -- beautiful, but very fragrant

White violets

You've picked a great base flower in hydrangeas! best of luck!
Reply:I love blue and white together. Two white flowers that would go very nicely with Blue Hydrangeas are "freesias double white" which have beautiful full white petals when opened and "mini tulips" which come in a very nice white and I believe there is a blue/white mini tulip which are white with blue tips. Both would work well, maybe all three!
Reply:white or pale pink roses. Since your wedding is outdoors in July, I think satin cones for the flowers is just gorgeous. You can hang them on the chairs that face the aisle for your ceremony. www.pewcones.com has a great selection. Hope this helps!
Reply:White roses, maybe white freesia, I wonder how white asiatic lilies would look with hydrangeas the two have different textures but it might work.
Reply:I used blue hydrangeas in my wedding. I also had Casablanca Lilies, white freesia, white roses, baby's breath, and some other flowers. The florist took sliver glitter spray and lightly sprayed the boquet so all the flowers shimmered in the light. She also put two little butterfly picks in it as well.

My flowers looked goregous. The florist didn't like the hydrangeas their vendor provided so she cut them out of her own garden! My tossing boquet was a couple of stems of hydrangeas tied with ribbon. Very simple but sweet.
Reply:I would say white roses would be classy or lilies. Also though I think some Iris' to accent would be nice and maybe some babies breath too.
Reply:if your gown is white and formal then i would suggest white lilies.

if your gown is cream and formal then what about cream colored roses?

if you are wearing a more casual style daisies, fressias, wild alberta roses, or lilies of the valley or white lilacs?

no matter what you choose, it will be beautiful, wishing you the best.

I am needing to know, because I want some blue flowers in my wedding bouquet w/o if costing an arm and a leg more. I am having a beach theme reception so I was thinking colors thta you would see in an ocean setting

What are some common blue flowers in Missouri....?
Blue flowers in Missouri:

Blue Sea Holly

Blue Sage

Azure Bluet

Blue Eyed Mary

White-mouth Dayflower

Virginia Dayflower

Willowleaf Bluestar

Common Flax

Bellflower

Good luck, your theme sounds very pretty.
Reply:hydrangeas are blue flowers that grow in almost every grandma's yard...and they do grow in missouri, but if you're going for tropical or "beach themed" you might consider more tropical plants/flowers?

Good luck...I hope everything is beautiful.

Blue flowers?

I'm having a celestial themed wedding and want to mix dark blue flowers with white flowers. What are some different types of dark blue flowers or what kind of flowers can be dyed that shade? I don't really know alot about flowers so pictures would be insanely helpful is possible.

Those sites all have pictures that should help you narrow down what you like.

I'm a little worried you won't be able to find that dark blue shade you want for the celestial theme, though. It's going to be a tough color to get...even dyed. Most flowers that come in blue lean towards a purple hue.

You might want to think about doing something a little different...like naming yourself the "shining star" if the event and incorporating metallics into your bouquet. Maybe let your bridesmaids wear the dark blue and have them carry ivory and metallic bouquets?
Reply:blue dahlias

bluebonnets

I don't know much about flowers, either, but if you do a Yahoo! photo search for "blue flowers", you can find lots of pictures. Print out the ones you like, and take them to a flower shop for identification and pricing...just a thought!

Good luck %26amp; congrats!
Reply:Roses can be dyed a gorgeous color of blue - I got these for my husband last year for Valentine's Day:

http://s200.photobucket.com/albums/aa206...

I'm not sure if they are as dark as you'd like but talk to your florist to see if they can be darker or not. There are no 'natural' blue flowers in the color I think you want so anything would be dyed or try silks.
Reply:I had blue orchids in my bouquet - they start out a gorgeous turquoise color and turn deep blue/purple at the center...I think they're dyed, but you can find them at floral shops easily.
Reply:blue tulips will be cool for a decoration
Reply:Hmmm...well roses can be dyed any color you want. I think tulips can as well. Something nice would be blue roses and white tulips with some baby's breath thrown in there too!

Check out this site for pics of bridal bouquets....

Reply:Dephiniums can be blue. Batchelor buttons are blue. Lupine are blue. You could dye white carnations and maybe even daisies.

I have a blue top and a light blue wrap skirt. What color shows go with this for spring/summer?

There are tiny blue flowers on the skirt and a little bit of white as well.

What goes with a burgundy flower tile bathroom? and a blue flower tile kitchen?

The tile in my bathroom has a burgundy rose in the middle. I was wondering what color would go well with burgundy? I was thinking either yellow, cream, brown, or green. I would like to get a rug and a toilet cover. Right now I have a burgundy shower curtain. I would like to have two colors in my bathroom rather than just burgundy and white. Would pink go well or yellow? Not sure on the colors.

And also my kitchen tile is has a blue rose in the middle, would a blue and yellow kitchen look good? Or what would go with blue? My countertop is kind of dark, it's a light black with light marble in it. Thanks for your help!

What goes with a burgundy flower tile bathroom? and a blue flower tile kitchen?
Burgundy goes well with gold or mustard. Not a bright yellow or brown but a mixture of both. Maybe use the gold on your walls and accent with burgundy accents. To add another color add greenery. It will add life to the room

The blue will go with any yellow, bright or pale. They complement each other well on the color wheel. It is a nice combo. It is popular in many decorating magazines.
Reply:how about pink? White? Beige? Not yellow or green
Reply:A sledgehammer?

Just kidding...

I think browns and beiges would look good with burgundy. Yellow and pink would probably not be very good.

As far as the blue, greens look good - yellow would be good too. Not sure what would look good with the counters though.
Reply:I had a Burgundry bathroom I loved yellow with it,as for your Kitchen white
Reply:It sounds like you prefer "yellow".

Actually, burgundy and blue go very nicely together. Why don't you just do some combos with these colors in both of the rooms.

Add splashes of other colors (such as your yellow) to the decor. You could also try violets and peaches shades.

If you are a "comparative shopper" you can purchase some of your items that can go in both rooms and every now and then for that "new" look, switch things around.

HAVE FUN! GOOD LUCK!!!!!
Reply:What goes well with these things you've mentioned----a very happy gay couple !!!

Actually---in your bathroom---think pink---there are numerous shades and one is going to be THE ONE ---you can also use a properly balanced grey also there for it will (as accent) be terrific !!

For the kitchen---and primarily BECAUSE of the near black in the countertop--- go with a grey (shade to balance) you will find that it should bridge the blue and the black quite well

I am a professional commercial photographer and am called on on a regular basis to use my knowledge of the color wheel to balance such stuff for the eye in images that are targeted at selling a look in photographs !!
Reply:In the bathroom I would but dark taupe colour or a sage green would be nice, as for the kitchen I'm not sure but I would stick with earth tones if you have blue and black counter tops you may get in trouble by adding to many colours. good luck

I need ideas for wedding flowers in silver and blue the wedding is in October?

silver? I imagine that would be expensive to get glitter or silver paint on flowers. gerber daisies are my favorite and can be dyed in bright colors.

I need ideas for wedding flowers in silver and blue the wedding is in October?
go to www.efavors.com our colors are royal blue and silver and we found some gorgeous silk flowers there.
Reply:Based on when your wedding is these are in season and should be cheap. Delphinium but I would talk to you local florist so she can help you with price and style ...you should also look online for anything you like.
Reply:good question
Reply:www.mysilkweddingflowers.com
Reply:Well, since there's no such thing as a silver flower, you will have to do those in silk. And there's not a big selection of blue flowers out there either, but here are some: Hydrangea, Anemone, and Iris. You may want to consider blue silk flowers also or adding a third color to your wedding for the flowers only (i.e. pink).

How do I get Hydrangea bushes to produce purple flowers like on cape cod?

I live just north of cape cod. My hydrangeas already produce blue flowers.

How do I get Hydrangea bushes to produce purple flowers like on cape cod?
My parents (on Cape Cod) stick long nails in the ground near the roots to turn them purple. Cheaper than acid fertilizer!
Reply:acid soil, this is advice from my gardening guru mother
Reply:Hydrangea are fun plants..you can make them go pink by fertilizing with Acid Fertilizer, or make them go Blue by adding Lime around their roots (ground under bush). Have at it.
Reply:there are many different varieties and colors of hydrangea. most fall into pinkish, blueish, or white. soil PH greatly affects them. among other things, lime to raise PH, sulfur to lower it. you can even put one on one side and one on the other and have more than one color on the same plant. experiment, have fun with it.
Reply:I think it needs an acid soil. I'd try Mir-Acid (its an acid form of the fertilizer Miricle Grow.)

Little Blue/Violet Flowers?

My yard has this long strip/patch of these blue/violetish flowers. They're very little, about the size of little Buttercup flowers. I also pulled a few out and it appears as though they are bulbs. I'm in MA.

Also, I know they are Violets, the flowers.

Little Blue/Violet Flowers?
They can't be violets if they grow from bulbs............

What is your question. Do you want to know what they are??Are they flowering now?

Here are some possibilties.-

How do florists colour real flowers artificially? For example.. make a white rose bright blue?

I am not talking about flowers that are normally that colour, I just bought some roses for my Mother the other day and you can tell that they were somehow dyed blue leaves and all, I was wondering how they do this.... I mean do they dip the flowers in dye(if so what kind) or do they somehow add something to soil or water to make them grow a different colour??

How do florists colour real flowers artificially? For example.. make a white rose bright blue?
With hydrangeas, if you alter the pH of the soil they will grow different colors. If the soil os acidic the will grow blue, and if it is basic, the will grow pink. My next door neighbor is a gardener and he added aluminum to the soil to make them them blue.
Reply:I don't know about all florists but for our wedding we used a lot of blues (and not many flowers come in blue) so our florist actually spray painted the different flowers we liked the various shades of blue we wanted. And they looked terrific - not cheap or fake in any way. I hope that helps! :)

Wow I hadn't heard about dying them with food coloring - that is a great idea too! :)
Reply:They dip the stems in the color of food coloring and somehow after a few days the stem uptakes the dye and changes the flower to that color.
Reply:Take a flower with a long stem

Put it in a vase filled with water.

Place blue food coloring in the water.

Wait a day or two.

blue tinged flowers
Reply:Flowers together with the are placed into containers with dyed water. The capillary actions within the plants xilem pull the water up along the stem into the petals, thus making the petals coloured
Reply:There is a spray that they use but I don't remember the name.
Reply:They put their stems in colored water and the water is sucked up through the stems where it is stored on the petals. This changes the color of the flower.
Reply:food coloring in the water.
Reply:Yes, flourists can dye flowers, as well as ADD a scent to flowers.

Blue is not a natural flower color.
Reply:If you put a cut white rose in blue (from dye) water, it will turn blue.
Reply:We did this in science class one year in school.

Put some food coloring in water in a glass, then clip off the end a flower stem, like a white carnation, and put the stem in the water. After a matter of hours, you'll start to see the color go up into the flower.

If you want to get fancy, you can put 2 glasses next to each other with different colors, and split the bottom of the flower stem. Put the 2 parts into the 2 glasses.

As the flower dries, it absorbs water from the glass, taking the coloring with it.
Reply:you put dye in the water and the dye gets soaked up along with the water right into the pedals of the flower. for which dye to use, im not sure but you can ask the florist. i've done it before and i just used food coloring. good luck, hope it turns out good! :)
