What type of flowers should i use?

I want white calla lilies for my wedding, but i also want brown and blue flowers. Any ideas? Oh and my colors are chocolate and tiffany blue.

What type of flowers should i use?
**calla lillies come in white and several shades of blue, purple, and even red.

**Chocolate cosmos are brown

**Gerber dasies have brown centers and are like mums where you can stick them in dyed water and they will turn any color including the tiffany blue

**Brown roses are available

**Hypericum berries are brown

**Obviously Hydrangeas are blue but expensive if not summer

**Cornflower, Delphinium are also blue

**Hyacinth and Iris blue

You can always ask a florist what she reccomends depending on the type of year. Its just a quote and you can steal her choices if you are DIYing. Also browse through the flower market and see what catches your eye.

Go sparse on the brown flowers. Have them as accents and use more jewels and ribbons in the brown. Take pictures of them if you are using a home camera, some may show up more black if there are alot.
Reply:add some gerbera daisies for color.

Reply:For blue Hydrangeas are absolutely stunning. You should definately look into those. I know Forget-Me-Nots are blue, Iris, and there is a gorgeous deep blue flower called Blue Flower (its originally from Germany I think.) As for brown, I looked up some brown flowers and none of them were very pretty or truely brown (they were brownish orange or red). You can always incorporate this color with a beuatiful chocolate ribbon tied around your bouquets! Hope this helps.

Reply:If you want calla lilies, I think it would look great for you to have a bouquet of just calla lilies, maybe tied with a blue or brown ribbon. The bridesmaids can have the more colorful flowers (I personally think that hydrangeas tied with a brown ribbon would look wonderful. My cousin had hydrangeas at her wedding and it was beautiful.) There's no rule that your bouquet has to match the bridesmaids.

If you have a good florist around your area, talk to them about your flowers. I'm sure if you tell them you're looking for ideas for blue and brown flowers, they'll at least be able to find pictures of them and let you know how much they would cost.
Reply:Blue Hydrangeas!!!! I did a Tiffany Blue bridal shower for my sister last weekend and we had blue and cream hydrangeas in vases all over the place. They were stunning! Everyone was commenting on how beautiful they were. My sister was even saying how pretty they would be in a bouquet. Talk to your florist and they will match up the right color blue for you. So pretty!

Reply:hydrangeas, both blossom fresh and dry, lilies of the valley are white and smell great, queen annes lace can be dyed with food coloring by dyeing the water the flower is placed in...do a few tests for how much dye you need and how much time it takes to get the color you like...it is naturally white and very lacy looking
Reply:here's a few sites that shows what flowers a wedding did with chocolate brown and tiffany blue and other ideas for that theme. Good luck.
Reply:I think the white calla lilies would look very elegant interspersed with large green ferns. Save the colors (blue carnations?) for the bouquets for you and your bridesmaids.

Brown might be a little somber for flowers in a summer wedding. Fall would be lovely. The blue is good anytime.

I think your colors will look perfect in the reception area.

Best Wishes!
