I'm getting married in October and would love to find a blue flower that's in season for the bouquets, help!

Bottle Gentian is blooming then . Available for cut ? Not sure . Might be some other gentian. Delphinium %26amp; Larkspur (annual Delphinium) are available year-round . Various white flowers can be dyed . Carnations, mums, daisies, hydrangea for ex. Re: above . Dutch Iris is available , but the usual types are bluish-purple . True blue is possible, but not likely , %26amp; subject to much interpretation . Agapanthus is good, but not sure if available in October . Be aware that while it's in the lily family , it is very un-lily-like in appearance .

Congrats and best wishes! You may want to try carnations, with the florist possibly using a food coloring, or some way to dye them if needed. Please check with the local florist in your area. These days, it should not be a problem. Take care.
Reply:Asters! they are perennial, lobellia, annual, but like cooler weather. I live in Massachusetts. so not too much is still in bloom, I think Aster would be the best choice for Massachusetts

Reply:Do you mean that you want to grow your own so as to pick them and use them? Where do you live? Are gardens still flourishing there in October? Where I live, October is usually after frost and few flowers are still in bloom. If you are somewhere where it is still warm in October, asters are blue and bloom in the fall.
