Is sky blue a feminine color for comforters?

i love blue, and i want a duvet cover. but i can't find the right flowery pattern, because the patterns don't really go with my flower shower curtain.

Reply:Blue is a masculine color and that is why women love it. It brings that part of masculinity within reach without having the actual physical part there. Basically you can have him without him. It's like a guy having feminine colors and accents around the house without having a woman around physically. There are colors that are cross gender but blue is not one of them.


Now matching your shower I would assume that you are talking about a master bath and that of course should be tied in with the decor of the master bedroom. Hey I watched enough "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" shows with my wife to know this stuff. Basically what you want to do is coordinate similar colors from the color spectrum. All you have to do really is look at famous art and see the combinations of colors. One thing I learned also was that it's not just all about colors but Texture as well. So you might want to start experimenting with that as well.
Reply:I think it can be feminine, with the right accessories. It's also a very clean and relaxing color. I think a plain blue duvet cover would be quite nice. You can accent it with other colors by using pillows, curtains, or a bedskirt in the accent color (like a color in your shower curtain).

Reply:I also love sky blue, and I have a duvet from the Simply Shabby Chic line, from Target a couple years ago. Target still carries the line, so I would check their website. It's a very floral, feminine collection. My duvet is the blue from the British Rose Collection. Good luck!
