Odd spiny soft blue flowers with odd bulges on top?
This flower is Love in the Mist (Nigella damascena) a member of the buttercup family. It is also known as Persian Jewels, Fennel flower, and Devil in the Bush.
Reply:It's going to take awhile for that image to unload, and I'm not willing to wait. From your description, I'm thinking these might be what we call maypops or passionflowers in South Carolina. Google those terms on some garden sites %26amp; see if that's it. Passionflowers grow close to the ground on vines.
Reply:Love In The Mist, my father used to grow them.
