Does anyone know of a website I can go to that shows all the different varieties of flowers that are blue? Or at least know some names of blue flowers? I'm looking for them for a wedding bouquet that will be blue and white.
Blue flowers?
Sweet Pea
Lupine
Hyacinth
Lilac
Scabiosa
Statice
Monkshood
Lobelia
Flax
Plumbago
Bayberry
Bachelor Button
Lupine and Delphinium, with their dainty flowers arranged with a background of trailing ivy, ferns, and the leaves of your flower choice would be charming. Consider adding some white to unify things for your larger arrangements of blue wedding flowers. Cream colors, like ivory or sand, will tone down some of the brighter shades for a more delicate look. Using the same flower like Iris in both blue and yellow would both unify and decorate your reception area.
Reply:Wedding Flowers - A short list of suggestions would include cornflowers, delphinium, triteleia, agapanthus and veronica, all of which would be ideal additions to a pretty wedding bouquet or table arrangement.
Roses are the perfect focal flower for your bouquet. You could try Blue Curiosa or Cool Water which have a blue tone (if you put these names into google images you can get an idea of what they look like!!) alternatively a cream Bianca or Akito rose is lovely.
Reply:We di blue and white for my daughters wedding a few years ago. I went to the flower market in Seattle and they helped lots. THis is a question that I think an experienced person may be of more hepl than the internet and gardeners LOVE sharing their ideas on topics like this. My daughter was married the middle of July and we did the flowers ourselves. She wanted a casueal look for a beach front wedding. We used White Dahlias, roses, baby-breath, We used blue Delphiniums, hydrangia, larkspur, and also a type of butterfly bush flower called Black Night. They were beautiful and very fragrant. Good Luck.
Reply:My sister had blue hydrangeas in her wedding bouquets. Hydrangea also comes in white as well. Another blue flower is delphinum which is used a lot on floral arrangements.
