Any ideas for Flowers for Wedding Favors?

We are having a Garden wedding and for our favors we are going to by small pots and have our names/date calligraphed on them. We want to plant seeds in them and let it be a surprise as to what flowers will bloom. But we can't even figure out what flower to put inthem!?! Any ideas on A small (and will stay small) purple or blue flower that is low maintanance that we could plant in the pots?

Violets are great potted plants with a beautiful purple/blue hue to them. They are affordable and last a long time. There are tons of varieties as well so you can look and see which kind you like and plant them.

Bluebells are beautiful wildflowers that spring up in no time and are perfect potted plants.

Reply:Petunias... they look nice if mass planted.

But if you want something that is unique for each individual, perhaps you should consider growing pansies called "happy face"...you tend to find some pansies with different colors and shapes mixed together. Some pansies have purple yellow colour, while others have an orange colour. Buy different types of panises and mix them together to see who ended up with what colour.

Because you are preparing for a wedding ceremony - you should aim for annuals because they grow fast and they can all take them home.
