I have wisteria blue, gladiolus, astilbe, phlox, lilly of the valley, bleeding heart, hollyhock, red hot poker, lupine, canterbury bells, columbine, larkspur and snapdragon.

Good choices. They like bright flowers... especially red, ...but they also like purple, white, orange, pink and blue. They like flowers with trumpet, tubular shapes.

Aside from the colorful nectar filled flowers, make certain that there is always fresh water available for drinking as well as for bathing. They need sunnny areas and they especially need shady areas to perch as well as to build their nests.
Willows and Eucalyptus trees provide nesting materials along with bits of leaves, spider webs, moss, and lichens to build their tiny nests.

Reply:Red Beebalm is what the hummingbirds really go for in my flower bed. I get some really great viewing as they will feed for a long time. These are by far their favourites and I have many of the same plants you do.
I'm in western Canada and I never plant anything until the end of May or beginning of June when the likelihood of snow is gone. We'd had snow in May and June before and I've lost some plants that way. I sometimes start plants from seeds and usually do that sometime in April indoors and then transplant later.

Reply:The hummingbirds go crazy for the monarda in my garden but i agree with the other answers that red flowers of most kind of flowers draw them but i also think a feeder helps keep them around also. Hope this helps.

What Do I Wear With A Floral RaRa Skirt ?
I recently bought 2 floral rara skirts from matalan. They both have black backgrounds, but one has blue flowers and the other has purple and pink flowers. What do I wear with either of them, - shoes? tops ? cardigans ? jewellery ?

if you are wearing them out wear a plain top in the colour of the flowers, black tights to match the black in the skirt and patent black shoes will look good.
If you want to wear a cardigan i recommend wearing a white tank top and a cardigan in the colour of the flowers.
if it is for a daytime look wear without the tights and with coloured dolly shoes/ballet pumps to match the flowers.

Reply:i would buy some tops that are the same colour as the flowers on the skirts and if possible try to find some shoes that colour too. if not then black flipflops with the straw bottoms would be perfect. if it is a cool day and want to warm your shoulders there is a great little black cardigan in newlook at £10 (i think) that would look fab. as for accessories i think the best would be bouncy/curly hair as it makes the outfit and would go amazingly with the bounce of the skirt. hope this has helped :)

2) Use lilies! These flowers are usually a blend of vibrant yet soft colors....like soft lavendar flowing into hot pink. You can find them in a variety of exotic colors, and the flowers just have a 'beach' look that'd go well.
3) Go with tulips!! You can get them in all of these colors listed....they are beautiful flowers, and with this bright arrangement...it'd be gorgeous.

2. It sounds a little too busy, you should just get married at the beach and use the natural splendor there . . .
3. Would be cute, because you could have each bridesmaid where a different color in the same dress which could be really fun and different. As far as flowers go, maybe orchids or something tropical?
I personally think the first one would be the easiest because you could make it a provencial (think France) theme and have sunflowers and lavender (which smell divine) and big beautiful white roses or hydrangeas in the pale bluish-purple and cream . . . it would leave you with more options all together.

And how are they different colours? I've got a rose in my garden (I've got a few actually), it's a pinky colour, but it should be blue, any idea how I can get it to be blue?

Many flowers have developed colors to attract beneficial insect or birds to their pollen and polinize other flowers, some colors are to warn or to make predators get away or at least make them thing. Know it have been seen in UV cameras , that many yellows color in flower are captured in UV so birds and insect can see them also!..In green plants the variation depends in the chlorophyll (green pigment) how much sun light they receive also, the soil conditions and some parts of the leaf lack chlorophyll and other have another pigments that give them this red or purpish color.
Now, they are many variation because man has modified plant genetically also.
About your Rose, have it give blue color before? If not check very well if you have the right one. And is your rose fully grown?
Reply:I am not a gardening expert but i think it has something to do with the acidity or the alkalinity of the soil. Ask a garden centre or go to B%26amp;Q and ask their garden department what the PH of the soil should be and what you can add to get it correct.

If just by being purposeful flowers look beautiful then we should understand that nature appreciates beauty, as we know it. And if nature appreciates beauty then nature is beautiful.

It is true that it is free for us to see and enjoy but it is not vain or without its purpose. This is sweet and true. But if you live in water and want your roses in blue then make sure you have bees that swim, and are also madly in blue.
